Swiss Board Circle 25 Convened at the Zurich Airport Circle

More than 200 members of the Swiss Institute of Directors (SIoD) gathered at the Zurich Airport Circle for Swiss Board Circle 2025. Under the annual theme “Deciding Today for Tomorrow,” the event provided a platform for dialogue, reflection, and forward looking insights into the future of board leadership.

The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Michael Hilb, President of the Board Foundation. Throughout 20 Board Exchanges, participants explored key challenges and opportunities facing boards today. Discussions focused on topics such as strategy, innovation, governance, risk, leadership, and transformation.

A particular emphasis was placed on emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence. Participants highlighted the growing responsibility of boards not only to guide organizations through digital transformation but also to leverage AI tools in their own board work. Geopolitical disruptions and emerging trade conflicts were also identified as key issues shaping the board agenda in 2025. These developments require strategic foresight, adaptability, and proactive risk management.

Moderated by distinguished experts and SIoD Chapter Chairs, the Board Exchanges provided an open forum for peer learning, experience sharing, and meaningful discussion on today’s most relevant board topics.

The event concluded with an outlook on the priorities of Swiss boards in 2025, followed by a networking reception that allowed participants to continue the conversations and strengthen professional connections.

Swiss Board Circle 2025 once again demonstrated the value of bringing together diverse perspectives to address the challenges and opportunities facing boards today.

Impact is created where perspectives come together.
